How Paris Noir: Deadly Obsession came to be
When I started writing Deadly College Murders back in 2019, I had no idea how much this project would evolve and grow. Throughout the challenges of the pandemic, I kept immersing myself in mysteries and crime stories, which fueled my writing even more. While working on the first book, I was already inspired to begin the second one, Deadly Vows: Echoes of College Crimes. Upon finishing that, I realized the third installment had to be something truly spectacular—an opportunity to go big or go home. I felt compelled to include more deadly twists, complex riddles, and unexpected turns to captivate readers even further. From the very start, I knew that Hannah’s story would not have a happy ending. For the third book, I chose to center the narrative on the enigmatic figure who would leave audiences questioning—Rafael. He’s Hannah’s protective godfather, a man who transitioned from a career in law enforcement to becoming a college professor. But who is Rafael really? Where did he come from? And how will Donovan, a relentless antagonist, make Rafael’s life an unending nightmare? These are the questions that shape the intense and gripping drama of the final chapter.
Donovan will make Rafael’s life an absolute living hell. From a daring heist at an ancient pyramid, to a terrifying incident where Rafael is nearly run down, to Hannah’s shocking arrest and a chance encounter with a mysterious illusionist, it falls upon Hannah and Rafael to confront the dark demons of their troubled past. Only then can they hope to return to Paris, where Hannah is set to marry the love of her life, Jonathan. But with Hannah plagued by disturbing premonition dreams, will these ominous visions prevent her from ever saying the fateful words “I do?” The answer lies firmly within the thrilling pages of Paris Noir: Deadly Obsession.
