How Deadly College Murders came to be

Hi everyone, my name is Bree and I am the author of Deadly College Murders. The first in the many of the Hannah Walker Mystery Series. How did this book come to fruition? Well, it all started at Cerritos College when I was majoring in Administration of Justice. I went to the library and I was bored out of my mind. As i went into the deep section of the library, I asked myself “Wouldn’t it be interesting if there was a murder in a college and i could be the one to solve it?” I had always had a fascination to solve crimes. Inspired by mystery shows like Forensic Files and the Aurora Teagarden Mysteries, I began writing in the college library. I was constantly going through writer’s block. I found inspiration in my sharp minded professor R.G. His quiet strength and intellect and sharp wit is what would later become a blueprint for Rafael, Hannah’s godfather. As the pandemic surfaced, I continued suffering from writer’s block. However that did not stop me from writing my book. I found myself drawn in watching the Crossword Mysteries Series, Aurora Teagarden Mysteries, Murder she baked series and Picture Perfect Mysteries! The book itself went through some character name changes as well as different titles. One of the original titles was going to be named….Murder at A college. But i settled for Deadly College Murders as it sounded just right. Originally envisioned as a love story between Hannah and Daniel, i settled it for Hannah and the strong bond she has with her godfather Rafael. The pandemic is what inspired me to continue writing my masterpiece and the memories of my former professor R.G is what continued helping me in shaping his character. While the ending was going to end in NYC, i chose to end it in Paris, after living my adventures in Europe!

What is the book about?

Deadly College Murders tells the riveting story of Hannah Walker, a student majoring in Administration of Justice. When her perverted writing professor is found murdered, Hannah wants to investigate, despite warnings of her godfather Rafael. Much like R.G, Rafael is retired from the force and went to teach at a college to be close to his goddaughter Hannah. As the murders in college begin to pile up, Hannah begins to wonder if she is the one that has been committing these murders! Along the way, she meets a dangerous man who she doesn’t know if she can trust him. Her friend Sofia, is a lawyer who moved from NYC to Oregon to be with her, but is she really who she says she is? And then we have Daniel. Hannah’s best friend, whom she is in love with. When she gets accused of the college murders, he helps her investigate. We have Detective Frigon and Smith who are the ones that make Hannah’s life a living hell. As the story moves along, Hannah experiences a lot of premonition dreams and encounters deadly cryptic spine chilling riddles.
